Between the 11th and 20th of April 1961 Eileen Atkins appeared on the BLT stage in a short play entitled The Square which was adapted from a book by Marguerite Duras. A few months later she reprised the role on TV playing opposite Michael Horden she was 27. In her own words…“I would say that that time in Bromley gave me my first big break.”
On Sunday February 13th Dame Eileen Atkins will be back live on our stage talking about her autobiography WILL SHE DO? And of course about Bromley Little Theatre. Signed copies of her book will be available.
Dame Eileen has offered this opportunity to listen to her memories of Bromley Little Theatre and so many other aspects of her life in the theatre, film and television as part of our fundraising campaign to refurbish our charming theatre which is now in desperate need of lots of love and attention and in particular money!
We want to keep the price of tickets at a price that our regular supporters can afford (£16) but hope that those who can afford to pay a little more will make a donation to our fundraising campaign.
You can book tickets on our website or through funding@
Help us to refurbish our amazing theatre and come along and listen to one of the great names in modern British theatre who started her brilliant career on our stage.
