A message from the Vice-Chair

Dear all,

I’m very much looking forward to once more attending as many of your productions as possible just as soon as they’re up and running again. Needless to say, I will also be taking full advantage of your licensed bar arrangements where these happily exist.

For the first time, however, I’d like to write a light-hearted review of each production I’m able to attend in the hope that it might be both constructive and enjoyable to all those involved. My other motive is to bring news of your productions to a wider audience relatively unfamiliar with our amateur theatre scene and who don’t know what they’re missing.

The reviews are intended to appear both in the Hayes Village Association Review which is published quarterly and on the HVA website depending on how close the productions are to publication. They will of course appear regularly on the BTG website.

I have also applied to have the reviews printed in the News Shopper so watch this space as they say. I’d also welcome your thoughts on any other publications you might feel appropriate.

Unless I hear to the contrary, I’ll assume you’re all happy for me to proceed as and when your productions re-commence.

Assuming BLT and BCAT are in agreement, my first reviews will cover their opening productions of ‘Handbagged’ and ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, both of which I can’t wait to see!

With best wishes for your curtains up!

Brian McEwan
