Chelsfield Players Auditions

The Chelsfield Players are holding open auditions for their Summer production of ‘The Real Inspector Hound’ by Tom Stoppard.
Foreword from Patrick Neylan (director)
Two theatre critics shuffle into their seats. Pleasantries are exchanged. Chocolates are produced. The curtain rises.
A play is presented. A murder mystery. It is, in the best tradition of English murder mysteries, cliché-ridden and unrelentingly dreadful.
Just as the audience is on the verge of despair, Inspector Hound arrives to solve the mystery. But is he the Real Inspector Hound? Do the critics know more than they are letting on? Where is the line between the reality of the critics and the fiction on the stage? Or is there any line at all? Someone else must die before we learn the truth.
This short play requires eight actors who are prepared to shamelessly shred their dignity and pretensions of professionalism for the sake of cheap laughs. We’ll provide the pineapple. You bring the ham.
Chelsfield Village Hall, 10 January, 8 pm.
